Give to Intersect LA

Teachers and students sit and discuss their work.

Giving students real-world experiences is part of what elevates a CSUN student to rise higher than they imagined possible. That’s exactly the purpose of IntersectLA, CSUN’s on-campus, student-run creative agency that provides strategy organization whose focus on branding and design methods help solve problems and add value for businesses, organizations, and communities. For clients like Dreamy Creations, a cupcake and dessert shop, students at IntersectLA provided the company’s branding, packaging, website design and photography to improve user experience and drive results.

Working for real clients to create innovative solutions gives students invaluable experiences, like handling a project from intake to final invoice. Along the way, they’re mentored by faculty members and industry professionals.

“There’s something addictive about problem-solving,” said Karina Schink, a senior English major who took a project management job with IntersectLA in early 2017. “That’s the joy of it. You try to figure out how to solve problems and how to make people happy, and also be proud of what you’ve created.”

Students working at IntersectLA gain experience across multiple disciplines including computer science, marketing, cinematography, journalism, art, and the humanities. Founder of the program, Dave Moon says his goal is to give students a pathway to be creative while establishing a business mindset.
