Artists play music at a concert hall

“This is our one and only performing arts center! Such terrific shows and accessible, exhilarating culture for the San Fernando Valley community and beyond. We've been going since the first year and still can't believe we are so lucky to have this state-of-the-art center so close,” says local resident Kathleen Schwartzman.

The award-winning Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts exemplifies CSUN’s commitment to making the arts accessible to all. As one of the cultural jewels of the greater Los Angeles region, The Soraya produces nearly 50 performances a year showcasing artists from around the globe highlighting multiple art forms.

Performances range from the jazz pedigree of the Branford Marsalis Quartet to the choreographic invention of the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, the swinging sound of the Christian McBride Big Band and the sociopolitical comedy of W. Kamau Bell. All artists, musicians and comedians who grace the stage are reflective of the creative exchange of ideas and expression that make up the community in which we live.

Many of The Soraya’s performers also enrich our community by participating in educational outreach activities that reach more than 10,000 students and educators each year, including a K-12 Student Matinee Series with in-classroom workshops, a Master Class and Leadership Lecture Series for CSUN students, and professional development for local educators.

Passionate individuals help make these performances and programming possible through annual funding, solidifying The Soraya’s vital place in our community. Your gift ensures that audiences continue to be enlightened and inspired by global artists using multiple art forms, free outdoor festivals with immersive multidisciplinary experiences and arts education programming for local students.
