The Certificated Prenatal Lactation Educator Training is a Lactation Education Accreditation and Approval Review Committee (LEAARC) Recognized Breastfeeding Course. The objective of this training is to provide participants with the content knowledge and skills needed to educate breastfeeding families in the community from the time of pregnancy through the perinatal period. Individuals completing this course will receive a certificate of course completion which allows them to use the designation of Certificated Prenatal Lactation Educator. Individuals will also receive continuing education units and satisfy 45 of the 95-hours of lactation education, including 2 hours focused on WHO code and 5 hours focused on communication skills, required to qualify for the certification exam administered by the International Board of Lactation Consultants Examiners. This training is fully online and self-paced over six weeks. While the participant may complete it at their own pace, all training assignments, quizzes, and the exit exam must be completed by August 9, 2026.
